Diana Ambida

I have had a ceramic studio practice for 3 decades in London and Vancouver. My experience started in Japan learning alongside a ceramicist in Osaka in the late 80’s, art school in Canada in the early 90s, and finally running a studio since 1996. Presently, I have a studio in Hackney.

I like my classes to be student-led, especially if the students are returners. Beginners need more guidance on techniques and knowledge of clay, so my style of teaching varies depending on the student’s level of experience.

Teaching allows me to share my passion, and people’s interest in the medium inspires me to continue. Teaching also encourages me to research ceramic topics and to experiment with the medium, which, in turn, informs my practice. Experiments with glazes and techniques form the basis of my studio work.
