We are proud to be an innovative learning and community hub on Stratford High Street, London. Our Centre has been recognised with several major awards, including the New London Awards 2024 (Education category), the Structural Award 2024 from The Institution of Structural Engineers, the AJ100 Community Impact of the Year Award 2024, and a shortlist for the AW Architecture Award 2024.
Our building reflects our commitment to sustainability and community. By transforming the existing office building and reusing 65% of its original structure, we’ve created a vibrant space for learning while significantly reducing carbon emissions. This thoughtful retrofitting approach embodies our values and supports a greener future.
Each year, up to 5,500 people join us to learn, create, and connect. The building is designed with inclusivity at its heart, offering bright social spaces that encourage conversation, collaboration, and a sense of belonging. The bold, colourful exterior welcomes the local community to step inside and discover what Mary Ward has to offer.
On the ground floor, you’ll find Mary’s Café—a friendly spot serving great coffee, tea, and light meals. From freshly made sandwiches and baked potatoes to salads and vegan options, it’s an inviting place to relax before or after your class, meet others, or enjoy a quick, affordable bite in a warm and welcoming setting.
