This hands on workshop introduces the fundamentals of three dimensional garment development, a method widely used in professional fashion design studios.
Students will learn how to:
• Pin and shape fabric on the mannequin
• Explore how flat fabric transforms into three dimensional garment structures
• Develop experimental draped garment forms
Throughout the workshop students will document their work and create a sample reference library of draping techniques that can guide future garment design and pattern development.
By the end of the workshop you will have created a draped garment concept and developed an understanding of how designers shape garments directly on the body.
