Learn the fundamentals of using a domestic sewing machine in this practical one day workshop designed for complete beginners.
No previous sewing experience is required. Beginners will be guided step by step through every stage of the process.
Students will learn how to thread and set up a sewing machine, control stitch settings, sew accurately, and construct essential seams and garment finishes.
During the workshop you will create a personal library of sewn samples, including different seam types and finishing techniques. This reference library will serve as a practical guide for future garment making projects.
By the end of the workshop you will:
• Understand how to operate a sewing machine confidently• Produce a sample library of essential seams and finishes• Gain the confidence to begin sewing your own garments
