The classes are aimed at complete beginners to knitting. The aim of the course is to build your confidence to work independently and tackle more advanced techniques after the course is complete.
We will begin with the basics, such as casting on, knit stitch and casting off, and will then incorporate a new technique to gradually build your skills. In the last few weeks of the course, you will be encouraged to use your new skills to create a small object.
Basic tools and materials will be provided. However you may wish to buy your own yarn and knitting needles so you can practice at home. Other useful tools include a stitch holder, crochet hooks, tapestry needles and scissors. If bringing your own knitting needles into class, please transport safely by covering the pointed ends with a point protector or cork.
