This course is for adults who have very little or no experience with computers. It focuses on building foundation skills such as turning on and off a device, using a mouse and the keyboard, navigating the home screen, and opening basic apps. You’ll also learn how to connect to Wi-Fi, adjust settings for accessibility, and understand basic digital etiquette. It’s the perfect first step for anyone who feels unsure about using computers.
Friendly, hands-on, and supportive. You’ll work in small groups with lots of guided practice and one-to-one help. There are no tests—just a relaxed environment to build your confidence. The tutor will also provide clear, easy-to-follow written handouts so you can review what you’ve learned at your own pace.
You’ll be using the computers available in the classroom. Please bring a notepad, a pen, and a folder to keep your handouts organised.
You can progress to Making a Start with Your PC – Part 2 if you are ready.
