If English is not your first language, then our ESOL courses (English for Speakers of Other Languages) would be a perfect fit for you. These classes help you to develop skills and confidence in speaking and listening, reading and writing in English. They are designed with useful topics to support English for daily communication for life in the UK, future study and work opportunities. The courses will meet your individual needs, and level that suit you, with exam and non-exam classes available.
Course Structure
Classes are twice a week, morning, afternoon, and some evenings, provided in both Mary Ward Centre and Blackfriars Settlement. Teachers at the assessment will talk to students about what is best for them.
Highly qualified, professional teachers will support learning from start to finish.
Towards the end of each course, teachers will give advice about next steps; whether this is the next level or a whole new avenue, to get people into work, a new job or develop further life skills.
Fees
For most people living in London, Essential Skills courses will be free. Teachers will discuss fees with students at assessment.
