This evening pottery class is for learners of mixed ability over 8 x 3 hour sessions. The course will also cover health and safety criteria as applied in a pottery.
It will cover hand-built and wheel-thrown techniques. The course is designed to accommodate beginners as well as those with some experience who wish to develop their skills further.
The class will focus on the fundamentals of hand-building, including pinching, coiling, slab building, and wheel thrown techniques. Additionally, students will be introduced to various ways to decorate and colour the surface of their work.
The class will provide hands-on instruction, individual practical activity, individual guidance, and group and individual discussion. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their work in an end-of-year exhibition.
The class fee includes the cost of basic materials and firing. Specialist clays and glazes can be purchased at cost if needed, and delivered to the college.
Students can continue to develop their skill on this course or others at the college.

Use scrap, found, traditional and alternative materials to explore sculptural methods and concepts. This course encourages you to enjoy using materials and the process of 'making', so ideal for beginners or students with more experience.
