This course is suitable for Beginners and Intermediate Students - those who would like to begin to experiment with resins for the first time, and returning students who would like to use their skills to further experiment with resin, to expand their knowledge and use the material to make more elaborate pieces of jewellery. Perfect for those who would like to learn in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
This is a practical project based course with handouts illustrating the demonstrations carried out.
The course gives students the chance to experiment with resin and encourages them to be adventurous with this material. Students with some experience can come along and further experiment with resins constructing three dimensional pieces made using moulds.
Basic principles of how to use resins.
Health & Safety of resins.
Step by step instructions of how to mix the resin.
How to combine fabric, paper and other multi media to the resin.
How to add jewellery findings to the resin.
Make jewellery items made from resin.
Learning Outcomes

Teaching methods: Visual demonstration and verbal explanation. Written handouts with visual diagrams. One-to-one teaching. Group discussions
Learning methods: Hands-on practical activities, Reading handouts and following instructions.
One-to-one and group discussion.
How students are assessed: Questions and answers during group discussions and one-to-one teaching.
Record of students' progress and achievement on an assessment sheet as they achieve the course objectives. Practical work produced is evidence of learning.
Resin, moulds and mould making materials will be provided.
Equipment will be provided.
Bring a sketchbook with an idea of designs they would like to create.
Student can go onto further study including qualification based jewellery subjects

Resin jewellery making is a fun and inexpensive way to be creative. You will learn techniques to add colour and mould your resin into unique shapes that can be made up into basic jewellery pieces.
These courses provide an opportunity to learn different techniques that you will need to create a variety of jewellery items in copper (provided), or with recycled jewellery and found objects (you can bring along). They are ideal for students of all levels - more advanced students who join a course will be able to complete their own projects.
Create jewellery and small objects using wireworking techniques. Ideal for beginners or those with some jewellery experience wishing to learn a new skill. Come and join us to learn in this supportive and friendly environment.
The 'Silver Jewellery Workshop' provides an opportunity for students of all levels to come along to create their own jewellery under the tuition of experienced jeweller Sally Lees. Students will benefit from Sally's extensive knowledge of jewellery making including her skills in jewellery making techniques using aluminium, silver, brass and copper to complete projects and start new ones. Students can bring their own silver or use the silver making techniques on copper or brass that is provided. Advanced students can bring their projects from previous classes to complete with close guidance and advice.
