Who is this course for
Speaking or performing in front of an audience is daunting for many people. The aim of this course is to help you re-engage with the playful spirit of childhood to ignite your creativity and enjoy being the centre of attention and not being phased when things go wrong. No previous knowledge or skills are required. The course will entail mostly physical play (not wildly energetic).
What does this course cover
The course will consist of playing a number of different games designed to makes students feel relaxed about playing and making mistakes as well as listening to the audience. Students will be encouraged to develop their creativity as the course progresses.
By the end of the course students should be able to use play as a lead in to creative activities, to have honed their listening skills and to feel confident being the centre of attention.
The learning objective would be for each student to have a grounding in play and an understanding of it's ability to spark creativity and to to use the skills gained in whatever context they wish to use them.
What will it be like
The teaching and learning methods used will be guided discovery through play. Students will be assessed through observation but mostly they will be encouraged to develop peer and self-assessment skills.
