Painting Flowers In Watercolour Ink

Inspired by bouquets of colourful blooms and working with watercolour inks we will work broadly - wet on wet, to produce large rich flower paintings. We will learn to control the inks as well as to allow for the natural spontaneity that will flow from the use of the media.

Who is this course for

This Course is for anyone who enjoys observational work and would like to experiment with coloured inks. Beginners are welcome.

What does this course cover

During this Course we will work broadly wet on wet, we will learn to control the inks as well as to allow for the natural spontaneity that will flow from the use of the medium. By the end of the course students will be able to render complex organic forms in ink.

What will it be like

There will be demonstration and experimentation. The tutor will give direction to the group as well as individual instruction and support. Progress will be assessed through group critique.

What else do you need to buy or do

Students will need to buy a set of watercolour inks and a range of soft brushes. They will also need to bring in a flower or flowers from which to work and Bockingford watercolour paper.
